7-12: Yeaaaaaa, I was wrong!

Woo hoo! I could not have been more off-base in my predictions for the winner of ANTM! I'm so happy to have been full of crap about that, because I've felt for months now that CariDee should win this kettle of fish.

I just hope she doesn't go the route of Naima and Nicole. Who? Exactly.

There's no guarantee of anything in the modeling industry, of course, but I want a bright future for my dear CariDee. Even the ANTM panel admitted that the business thrives on the nutso, so that's a vote in her favor. Note to Melrose: I said "nutso," not "neurotic." There's a difference.

I gotta say, this is the best photo I think I've ever seen of Eugena. She finally came alive at the end, and she's young enough that I think there's some hope for her to make it as a model. On the other end of the spectrum, though...

In any other industry, 23 is a mere pup. In modeling, it's AARP time. Hell, I'm a little worried it's already too late for CariDee, who's only 21. That said, Melrose had a fantastic walk in the final fashion show. So she'll be able to do runway for the next couple years, if nothing else. However, she's now got an international reputation as a high-maintenance freak who goes to pieces at the slightest stress.

Melrose: "[sob] She stepped on my dress!"
Orange Julius Jay: "Huh? Who?"
Melrose: "[sob] Cari!"
CariDee (mystified): "Sorry!"
Melrose: "[sob] Don't tell me you're sorry!"

What can you even say to that? I'm not sure why Melrose was flipping out so much. If anything, CariDee was probably thinking she had signed her own exit papers by ripping the client's dress. Adding this to the minor meltdown Melrose had after shooting the Cover Girl commercial and you have a picture of instability. Not 'oh, there she goes saying the wrong thing again' but 'keep the sharp objects away from that one.'

So based solely on my own uninformed, totally biased opinions of what is and isn't good modeling, the eliminations happened in the right order last night, clearing the way for the luminous CariDee to win. Still... I'm a little nervous about whether or not she's truly won anything.

Remember several "cycles" ago, when Naima won -- and totally disappeared? The only times we've seen her since then were in some tragic Cover Girl spots that only aired during Cycle 5. They had her touring a Cover Girl factory wearing a hairnet. A hairnet. This is not what I want for my girl.

The jury's still out on Dani(elle), but I'm not holding my breath. So I'm a little apprehensive over what CariDee has actually won. All I ask is that there be no hairnets in her immediate future.

i think your so right..this season the girls are almost hopeless.i worry who will be the next winner. if jael wins i will go nuts (nutso) (ha). she has good personaility but poor potential and i dont think she dresses well at all.the panel yells at dionne for dressing badly while jael sits there with her crazy shirts and accesories.and britney may be too cocky now. i hope someone like dionne or jaslene wins.well contact me back.
